Here's the case:
The Filipina is single, she's in Japan with a Specialties in Humanities Visa. In two years of working there, she met a Japanese who's single, 4 years her senior. They have plans of getting married next year. What will you advise them, to get married here in the Philippines, or just get married there in Japan? And why?

Thanks sa advise, in advance. wave1

hello tita. sa opinion ko po mas practical kung sa japan na sila direct na ikasal tutal nandoon na naman sila pareho e. saka syempre hindi naman natin alam ang mangyayari in the future pano kung di pala sila magkasundo (wag naman sanang mangyari) and gusto ng anak nyo na kumawala sa pagkakatali, sa japan may divorce sa pinas wala. kung ngkataon na d2 sya ikinasal at gusto nyang maclear ang record ng kasal nya malaking gastos pa un at malaking abala para ma annul ang kasal nila. at least kung sa japan lang sila ikinasal, malinis ang record nya d2. pero syempre po i wish your daughter good luck and iba pa rin syempre pag magkasundo at magkasama ang mag asawa for better and for worse di ba icon_salute

so i will give you my opinion kung san mas better silang magpakasal. i think mas better here to lessen some paper works na ipaprocess nila kung dyan sila magpapakasal. kung dito po, lahat ng papers ay direct na lahat. from philippine consulate, to city hall, upto immigration po.

first po is sa philippine consulate wherein don po sila pwede kumuha ng LCCM po. below are the needed documents po to get it in the philippine consulate.
For Single Filipinos:
Birth Certificate in security paper issued by the NSO authenticated by Authentication Division, Department of Foreign Affairs (Original & 1 Photocopy)

Certificate of Non-Availability of Record of Marriage (Purpose: For Marriage) in security paper issued by the NSO authenticated by Authentication Division, DFA-Manila (Original & 1 Photocopy)
NOTE: The validity of CENOMAR is six (6) months from the date of issue of the NSO.

If 18-20 years old, please provide Authenticated Parental Consent. It should indicate name of fiancee/fiance(Original & 1 Photocopy). If 21-25 years old, please provideAuthenticated Parental Advice. It should indicate name of fiancee/fiance(Original & 1 Photocopy), has to pass through:
Notary Public
Regional Trial Court
DFA Manila, Authentication Division

Valid Passport (Original & 1 Photocopy of Data page & Last Page)
NOTE: If Expired Passport/Lost Passport/Mutilated Passport/Passport under an Assumed Name (AKA/Alias)/Passport with Discrepancy (First Name/Middle Name/Last Name/Date of Birth/Place of Birth), applicant has to apply for a new passport prior to acceptance of application for LCCM. (Please see requirements for the abovementioned passport cases.)

Two (2) Passport Size Pictures

third and last thing po, pag napasok na nya ang papers na yon sa city hall, need nilang pumunta sa immigration para mapalitan ang visa status ng babae. magiging Spouse of Japanese ang status ng visa nya po here. kailanga here is yong papers na manggagaling sa city hall which is marriage certificate. naka japanese na siguro yon. then, apply lang sya ng Change of Visa Status po.

kung sa pinas pa sila papakasal, i think matatagalan pa sila dahil sa bagal ng processing ng papers sa atin po. although ang magiging processing is almost the same rin po above. pag kinasal sila dyan, they need also to submit it to the city hall where the guy is living. so my best advise is, yong marriage is dito gawin po for fast processing po, then yong celebration or church wedding po is dyan na lang sa pinas siguro. sa tingin nyo po?  icon_salute

Good morning Mr. Striver and Ms. Mikki, thanks sa advice, I really appreciate it. But, I still have one question, kailangan ba ang personal appearance ng pagkuha ng mga papers na ito sa Philippine Embassy? or pwede dito ko na lang kunin sa Pinas at ipadala ko na lang sa kanya? She's in Hokkaido pa eh.

Thank you very much po sa inyong lahat.

hi ms. lulu manuel wave1
