It depends. There is still some process to undergo here in the Phil. such as court hearing procedures and finality report coming from the judicial court. If the child is a minor you still have to ask the consent of DSWD then the consent of international Social Services Japan, for International adoption. After you have undergone this procedures, to make it legal, the results will be translated to Japanese, para ma isubmit sa Ministry of Justice for approval, and malagay sa koseki tohon. That was the procedure that I did with my own children. Now my daughter is in Japan, but with a different visa, specialties in humanities, not as a child of a Japanese national.  And, one more thing, you will need a lawyer for this. Ganbatte kudasai.

Good morning. My daughter was also 17 when we apply for the change of surname (adoption) it took us years bago matapos yun. Pero that depends upon the lawyer handling the case. Which was a mistake on my part. But, she's in Japan right now, kaya lang ang visa ay Specialties in Humanities. By the way, andito na kami ng hubby ko sa Pinas, retired na kasi sya but I stayed long in Abashiri City in Hokkaido.

Hello Mr Striver, thanks for welcoming me. At the moment wala pa, baka next year bago mag expire ang aking reentry. What do you think? fr. Ate Glo.
