Naglabas na nang official statement kahapon June 1 ang Prime Minister of Japan na hindi nila itutuloy ang consumer tax increase to 10% next year April 2017 mula sa present na 8%. Ang primary reason dito ay sa kadahilan na malaki ang magiging risk na maaaring lalong lumubog ang economy nang Japan at makakaapekto sa ibang bansa ayon sa pahayag ni Mr. Abe.

Hindi ito matutuloy subalit plano din nilang gawin ito after two and half years. They will only extend it at planong isagawa on year 2019.
