What is Balikbayan Program (From Philippine Embassy Japan Homepage)?
The Philippines has instituted the Balikbayan Program (through Republic Act 6768), under the administration of the Department of Tourism to attract and encourage overseas Filipinos to come and visit their country of birth. Under this program, Balikbayans (overseas Filipinos and former Filipino citizens who had been naturalized as a citizen of a foreign country), including their spouse and unmarried children, can avail of certain benefits and privileges when they visit / return to the Philippines.

Sa program na ito, meron tatlong privilege na pwede ninyong makuha. Una ay ang TAX FREE na kanilang binibigay sa inyong mga bibilhin sa Pinas within $1,000. Second ay ang 1 YEAR VISA na tinutukoy namin dito, at ang pangatlo ay ang TRAVEL TAX EXEMPTION na di nyo na po kailangang bayaran.

Para ma-avail ninyo ang program na ito, meron mga conditions and requirements na dapat ninyong ipakita upon arriving in airport immigration sa Pinas. Una, yong mga foreigners na papasok tulad ng inyong anak at asawa ay kasama nyo dapat na dating Pinoy ang citizenship. Second, meron valid na passport na meron more than 6 months validity period. Third, meron return ticket na ipapakita, at last ay dapat meron kayong maipakitang document na magpapatunay ng inyong relationship, and also yong pagiging Pinoy citizenship nyo before tulad ng old passport ninyo or old IDs.

Note na ang program na ito ay iba sa 30 DAYS NO-VISA ENTRY ng mga Japanese at iba pang banyaga sa Pinas. Maaari ninyong avail ito para sa inyong anak na Japanese na inyong isasama sa Pinas kung kinakailangan nilang magtagal sa Pinas ng hindi lalagpas sa isang taon upang hindi na kayo magkaroon ng problem sa visa nila.
