You know income tax, residence tax, consumer tax at kung ano ano pang mga taxes na pibabayaran sa inyo ng government. Sad to say, on your travel to your destination country there is a travel tax that you should pay and what is this travel tax by the way?

Ayon sa definition ng Philippine Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) na dating Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA), ang TRAVEL TAX ay isang tax na pinababayad ng Philippine government sa mga taong aaalis ng bansang Pilipinas, regardless kung saan man nya nabili ang kanyang plane ticket at kung saan man nya ito binayaran ayon sa nakasaad na batas sa Presidential Decree (PD) 1183.

Ayon sa nakasaad sa batas, ito ay para lang sa mga magta-travel palabas ng bansang Pilipinas. So kung ikaw ay magta-travel lang domestically halimbawa is from Manila to Cebu at sasakay ng plane, wala kang kailangang bayarang travel tax.
